Rewards and payments
Pay your partners
Choose the payment process that matches the program's payout method. An approved cash reward is money you owe the partner. Approval alone does not send it.
Choose who pays partners
An owner or admin opens Payouts in the sidebar. The Who pays partners? card sets the payout method new programs start with:
- Under Cash rewards, choose Grizzlee pays them to keep approved cash in the partner's Grizzlee wallet until you create a payout, or I pay them myself to pay partners from your own system.
- Under Store credit rewards, choose Grizzlee keeps the balance to hold credit in the partner's wallet, or I give it myself to issue it from your own system.
Choose Save. Programs you already created keep their own payout method. To change it for one program, open the program's Advanced tab and set the Payout method under Payouts. Changes there apply to rewards earned after you save.
Pay wallet cash
An owner or admin opens Payouts and chooses Create payout. A payout reserves cash from a partner's available Grizzlee wallet balance. A cash reward becomes available once it is older than the Hold period in Payout schedule, 30 days unless you change it. Until then a refund can still reverse it.
- Select the partner and enter the amount in your company's currency.
- Under Payment method, choose Manual payment or Stripe connected account transfer.
- Choose Create payout.
For a manual payout, send the money using your business's payment method. Then open the payout under Partner payouts, enter the External payment reference and choose Mark paid. Creating a payout keeps that wallet cash from being used for another payout. It does not send the money.
For Stripe, choose a Stripe connection. The partner needs a connected account on that Stripe platform. Grizzlee sends the transfer and updates its status. Your Stripe connection needs transfer access and sufficient funds. Ask your developer to set up partner accounts if your business does not already have them.
Pay rewards your business delivers
For programs set to I pay the partner myself, your business reports each delivery through its integration, or uses a scheduled merchant payout. Those rewards are separate from wallet cash, so the wallet reservation form is not a way to pay them.
Open Payouts. In Payout schedule, choose Frequency and set the minimum payout in your company's currency. To wait before paying, open More and set the Hold period. It starts at 30 days. Enable Create payouts on this schedule and choose Save payout schedule. For scheduled payouts, the hold period starts when a reward is approved, so a reward you review starts its hold when you approve it. Wallet cash follows the same number of days even when the schedule is off, but counts them from when the reward was earned. Schedule dates use UTC.
With Stripe transfers off, Grizzlee creates manual payouts. Send the amount shown, then Mark paid with the payment reference. For merchant payouts, marking them paid also records delivery of their allocated rewards.
With a Stripe connection selected, Grizzlee transfers scheduled payouts to partners with a connected account. Partners without a Stripe account, under More, controls what happens to the others. You can create manual payouts or wait for their account. Waiting creates no payout. Their rewards carry over to the first due date after they add an account. Check the payment method on each payout before sending money yourself.
Check a reversed payout
A Stripe transfer can be reversed in full or in part after payment. Grizzlee shows the payout as reversed and the amount Stripe returned. Returned cash becomes payable again unless it settles debt from a refunded reward. The original payment and earned reward history stay intact. Scheduled merchant payouts include approved returned cash on the next due date. For wallet cash, create a new payout when you are ready to pay it again.
Ask your developer to subscribe to transfer.reversed on the merchant Stripe connection and payout.reversed on your Grizzlee webhook endpoint. Keep the connection active so Grizzlee can receive the event.
Check a payout that has not completed
Open it under Partner payouts to read its status and any error. A manual queued payout is waiting for your payment confirmation. A Stripe payout marked as processing is being handled automatically.
If Stripe needs attention, check Stripe for an existing transfer before creating another payout. Where a transfer exists, enter its Transfer ID from Stripe to confirm it. Where none exists, choose Release: no transfer in Stripe. Do not send a second payment while the first is uncertain. See payout troubleshooting.
Store credit
Store credit is not a cash payout. A wallet-credit program makes approved credit available for your checkout to redeem. With I give the credit myself, your own system issues the credit and confirms delivery. Both need a checkout integration. Send your developer the reward-delivery guide.
Your integration can confirm one credit entry for a partner. Grizzlee splits it across approved rewards, oldest approval first. It can also record one debt recovery across that partner's oldest debts. Your billing system keeps the spendable credit balance. Grizzlee keeps the reward deliveries and settlements, so your integration does not need to track each reward's credit history.
