Handle refunds

Grizzlee adjusts partner rewards after your business confirms a refund. It keeps the original earning and records the adjustment in the reward's history.

Refund the customer first

Use your payment provider or business system to return the customer's money. Recording a refund in Grizzlee adjusts rewards. It does not refund the customer's payment.

If your integration reports refunds automatically, let it send the confirmed refund. Ask your developer to check the integration if refunds are not reaching Grizzlee.

Record a refund in the dashboard

Owners, admins and editors can record supported refund adjustments from an order reward:

  1. Open Commissions and select a reward for that order.
  2. Open Record an order refund. Choose 50% refund or Full refund only when it matches the refund your business confirmed.
  3. Check the order ID and choose Record refund.

The adjustment applies to every reward from the order, even if you opened just one partner's reward. For another refund amount, your developer needs to report it through the integration. Do not use the closest dashboard amount as an estimate.

You can also record refunds from an offer reward. 50% refund is unavailable once either order amount is at least half refunded or the order is fully refunded. Order adjustments change the amounts used for this check. Partial refunds leave the offer unchanged.

Understand the change

Percentage rewards use the refunded commissionable amount. Fixed rewards prorate on that same amount. Reporting totals do not change new rewards. Only an explicit full refund marks the order fully refunded. Fixed rewards follow the program's When an order is partly refunded setting saved when they were earned. That rule can reduce the reward proportionally or keep it until a full refund.

Open the reward's details to see the Original reward, the Refund reduction and the Final reward. History lists each refund adjustment. A refunded purchase still counts as a purchase when later orders are evaluated. It does not make the customer new again.

If the partner was already paid

A reversal after merchant delivery can leave partner debt. Future merchant payouts may offset it, so check the net amount shown before sending a payment. Grizzlee does not pull a previous manual payment or Stripe transfer back automatically.

For credit your business holds, your integration reads the partner's outstanding credit debt, takes back up to that amount from available credit, and confirms one recovery. Grizzlee applies it to the oldest debts. A corrected refund first reduces outstanding debt. If your business already collected that debt, Grizzlee adds the restored amount to the credit still owed to the partner.

Wallet balances and merchant-delivered rewards follow different recovery processes. Ask your developer to reconcile an already-paid refund or a corrected refund total against your payment records. Send them the refunds-after-delivery guide.
