Programs and partners
Share links, QR codes and partner codes
Each partner's link identifies that partner and program. The program's tracking switches decide which sharing methods are available. Share it after your website can record referrals and report confirmed payments.
Generate a link
- Open Partners and select the partner.
- Choose the Program in their details.
- Open Page the link opens to check the page customers land on. It starts with the program's signup page destination or the page set under Where should the link send people?. Use the page your developer connected to Grizzlee. Editing it here changes only the link you see.
- Copy the Referral link and send it to the partner.
The link ends in the partner's short code, such as ?ref=KARL7Q. It adds the program only when another program the partner shares uses the same page. Links you sent before short codes existed keep working.
The signup page recruits partners. A referral link brings customers to your business. Use the referral link in customer emails, social posts or messages.
Download a QR code
The partner details show a Referral QR code for the chosen program and destination. Choose Download QR to save the image for signs, packaging or printed cards.
Scan a printed sample with a phone before distributing it. Confirm that it opens the intended page and that your checkout records the referral. A QR code can open your page even when referral tracking has not been connected.
Use typed codes
New programs accept typed codes. To check an older program, open it, choose the Advanced tab and turn on Referral codes under Sharing. Partner details then show a Referral code, the partner's short code such as KARL7Q. Grizzlee makes it from up to six letters of the partner's name, a digit and a letter, and it never changes. Customers can type it in any case. Long codes you shared before still work. This code identifies the partner; your checkout applies any friend offer.
Checkout can accept a typed partner code alongside receipts from links or QR scans. Grizzlee chooses the newest valid referral until a purchase qualifies. Qualified customer attributions keep their partner. A code entered at checkout beats an older scan. Invalid candidates are skipped, and checkout continues when none is valid. Your developer must connect the code field in your checkout to Grizzlee. Adding a coupon field to a page alone does not record a referral.
Create a Stripe or Shopify promo code
- Connect Stripe or Shopify in Settings, then Connections. Give Stripe Coupons write and Promotion Codes write access, or Shopify
write_discounts. - Edit the program and give the friend a discount on What people get. Then open Advanced and check that Stripe or Shopify discount codes is on under Sharing.
- Open the partner's details and select the Program.
- Under Provider promo codes, choose the Provider connection and enter the Promo code.
- Choose Create promo code. Copy the code for your partner to share.
The provider applies the discount. An order using the code can credit the partner without a referral link or receipt. Grizzlee selects among codes and captured referrals using the normal newest-valid rule. A qualified customer referral keeps its partner.
Choose Rename code to change the shared name, or Deactivate code to stop future redemptions. Stripe renames replace the promo code. Shopify renames keep the same discount and redemption history. Both keep past rewards. Existing codes keep the offer from the program version that created them, even after you edit the program. A pending operation offers Retry creation after a timeout. Cancel pending rename restores the original Shopify code name and preserves its redemption history.
Stripe supports one discounted first-time transaction. Shopify supports one use per customer, including returning customers. Both can require a minimum order amount. Rules the provider cannot express return an error, including a percentage ceiling, referral-relative expiry and category restrictions. Ask your developer to check the supported friend incentives.
Check clicks and purchases
Open the partner's Link clicks and QR scans and Program totals. Clicks tell you that a link was opened. They do not prove that the customer completed a payment or earned a reward.
Do not remove the referral information from a link when shortening or sharing it. If you change your destination page or use mobile app links, have your developer check attribution again. Send them the integration guide or mobile guide.
Share from an app dashboard
An embedded partner dashboard shows a referral link and a Share button for each available program. Your developer can limit each screen to one program. In React Native apps, GrizzleeNativeEmbed opens the phone's share sheet when the partner taps Share. Web embeds need a developer callback to share through the host app. Without that callback, copying and sharing stay inside the dashboard. Send your developer the embed guide.
Your developer can also choose the simple layout for referral programs. It shows the offer, link, progress and Share, with a detail link to open the lists. Cash programs keep Payouts in those details. The simple layout shows the partner's short code under the link when the program accepts typed codes, and Share includes it. It hides promo codes, QR tools, click totals, balances and payout setup notices. If no link is available, it shows "Invitations will be available soon."
In the full layout, the Referrals tab shows counted milestone progress, such as task_completed: 6 of 10. Reversed reports reduce the count. Once a reward is earned, its threshold keeps the original reward rule even if you change the program.
Customer names in the embedded dashboard
The Referrals tab shows a customer display name your integration sends, or "Referred customer" when no name is saved. French Canadian sessions use "Client parrainé", and Armenian and Russian sessions use their own translation. The Rewards tab shows dates, amounts and statuses. Partners cannot see your raw customer or order IDs through the embed, and there is no setting to reveal them.
Ask your developer to send an optional customerDisplayName when identifying a referred customer or reporting payment. A first name is enough. It must contain 1 to 80 characters after trimming. Send only a name you intend partners to see. Customer erasure clears the saved name. Your merchant dashboard and authenticated API still show real IDs.
