Rewards and payments
Review and approve rewards
A reward records what a partner earned. Its approval status and payment status are separate. Approval makes a cash or credit reward available for payment or credit delivery. An offer reward records a discount earned by the partner.
Find a reward
Open Commissions. Use the All, Pending, Approved, Reversed or Needs review tabs. To narrow the list, choose a partner or program in All partners or All programs. Select a row to open the reward's details. Long lists show 200 rewards at a time. The pager below says which ones you're seeing, such as "201-400 of 1,032". Use Previous and Next to move through them.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | The reward waits for approval. A program with Review rewards before approving keeps every reward here until you approve or reject it. |
| Approved | The reward passed approval. Cash or credit can be delivered. Approval does not prove payment. |
| Reversed | Grizzlee has cancelled the remaining earning, such as after a refund or rejection. The original record remains. |
The details include Calculation and Program terms. Money rewards also have History. After a refund, Original reward, Refund reduction and Final reward show how the amount changed. Check the original rules on this reward. The program may have changed since the reward was earned.
When your integration changes a completed order's commissionable amount or reporting total, Order adjustments shows the previous and new totals, the date, any reason supplied and the change across the order's rewards. The details show the Original reward and the total added or removed by order adjustments. History lists each change to this reward as Order adjusted, with its signed amount. Grizzlee keeps the original reward and earlier history entries, and recalculates the reward using its original rules.
Approve or reject
Open a pending reward and choose Approve reward when it is valid. To decline it, choose Reject, add a Reason if you want one, and choose Reject reward. The reason shows in the reward's details.
Owners, admins and editors can review rewards. If you have read-only access, ask an owner or admin to change your role or review the reward for you.
Rejection reverses the remaining reward. A later refund adjustment does not approve a rejected reward for you. Check the reward before confirming rejection.
Check suspicious referrals
Open Commissions, then Needs review, to see rewards that self-referral or fraud checks flagged or held. You can approve or reject held rewards from the list. A held reward stays pending until someone approves or rejects it. A flagged reward follows the program's usual approval rules, so it may already be approved. Rewards that wait only for your approval stay under Pending.
Read the reason and inspect the customer information your business supplied. A shared network can be legitimate. Customer links and the signals your integration sends contribute to these checks.
On a program's Advanced tab, under Safety, use Review rewards before approving and the Fraud checks level to control future rewards. Changes do not rewrite rewards already earned.
A linked customer ID counts as self-referral. Standard and Strict block it. Off disables the linked ID and identity signal checks. With Custom, Self-referral check decides. An IP-only match that would block is still a flag. For example, a partner who opens their portal and then buys through their own link from the same network gets a flagged reward, not a blocked one.
Earned offers
On a program's What people get tab, choose A discount as the sharer's reward to give them a discount off their next order. Each qualifying referred order earns one offer with a copy of its discount terms. The program's duration decides which orders qualify. Expiry starts when the referred order occurred. Changing the program leaves earned offers alone.
Offers follow the same review and rejection rules as money rewards. A full refund of the earning order reverses its offer. A lower refund total restores the previous approval status. Partial refunds and order adjustments leave offers alone. Rejection stays final. Offers have no money amount or ledger entries and do not enter wallets or payouts.
In Offer details, check the offer status, Uses remaining, Uses recorded, Open holds and expiry. Refunds that give uses back reduce the recorded use count. Open holds reserve uses for placed orders but do not change the status.
| Offer status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending approval | The offer waits for approval and cannot be used yet. |
| Available | The offer is approved, has uses left and has not expired. |
| Used | All uses have been recorded. This stays Used if the earning order is later refunded. |
| Voided | Rejection or a full refund of the earning order cancelled the remaining uses. |
| Expired | The offer passed its expiry date. |
Partners redeem offers at your API checkout once you link their customer account in their partner record. If an eligible friend offer is also available, checkout uses it first. Otherwise it chooses the earned offer that expires soonest, then the oldest. Discounts already applied stay applied when an offer is voided. Stripe and Shopify promo codes do not redeem earned offers.
Check whether it was paid
For rewards your business delivers, details can show delivery records. For wallet cash, an approved reward can still be waiting for a payout. See paying partners before treating approval as a completed payment.
